I am the data controller for this site. There is no company and no team.
What this site collects
Analytics. kharidwise uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not fingerprint your browser or device. It records aggregate figures only: page URL, referrer, country, browser and device type, and page load timing. I cannot identify an individual visitor from it and there is no profile of you anywhere in it.
Click counts. When you click a “View on Flipkart” or “See price on Amazon” button, the site adds one to a running total for that product on that day. It stores the product, the store and the date, and nothing else: no IP address, no cookie, no device details, no referrer. A total cannot be tied back to you.
Server logs. Like any website host, Cloudflare handles each request to this site, including your IP address, browser type and approximate location, to serve the page, keep the site secure and block abuse. It keeps short-lived request logs, which I can see in my Cloudflare account. I do not use them to identify or track visitors, and this site does not store IP addresses itself.
The advice form. If you use the request form, you submit what you choose to tell me — typically what you are buying, your budget, your constraints, and an email address to reply to. That is the only place this site collects anything about you personally, and only if you fill it in.
Email list (optional). The finders may offer a box asking if you want an email when new products are added. It appears only after you have used the finder and you can ignore it or press “No thanks”. If you enter your email and press Subscribe, I store the address, the time, the exact wording you agreed to, and where you signed up, and nothing else. I use it only to tell you about new products. To be removed, reply to any email or write to hello@kharidwise.com.
Wrong-spec reports (optional). Each product card has a “Report a wrong spec” button. If you use it, I store the product, your message and the time, and your email only if you choose to give one, so I can reply. I use it only to check and correct the listing. Nothing here asks for anything else about you.
The page address. The finders put your search (words, budget, filters) in the page address so you can share a link to it. Your height and weight are never put there. The address stays in your browser and in the link you choose to share; this site does not store it.
Remembering your choice. If you dismiss or use that box, your browser stores one setting on your own device (localStorage, not a cookie) so it is not shown again. It is never sent to me. The finder’s filter-position choice is stored the same way.
Nothing else. No accounts, no logins, no advertising networks, no social media tracking pixels, no session recording, no chat widget.

Under India’s DPDP Act the form submission is processed on the basis of your consent for the stated purpose of replying to you.
How long it is kept
- Analytics: retained by Cloudflare for up to 6 months, aggregate only
- Server request logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short time, set by Cloudflare, not by me
- Form submissions and my reply: kept up to 12 months, then deleted. Kept at all only so I can see whether the advice I gave turned out to be right
- Email correspondence: deleted on request, otherwise up to 12 months
- Wrong-spec reports: deleted within 12 months of being checked
- Email list: until you ask to be removed. I review the list once a year and remove addresses that no longer read the emails

When you click a link to a retailer: you leave this site. The retailer and their affiliate network will typically set a cookie on their own domain to record that you came from here — that is how the commission is attributed. They are the controller for that data, not me, and their privacy policy governs it. I cannot read those cookies and I receive only anonymous, aggregated commission reports: that a sale happened and for how much, never who bought.
I do not sell data, and there is nothing here to sell.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own — no analytics cookies, no preference cookies, nothing. That is why you see no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
Cookies set by a retailer after you follow a link out are set by that retailer on their own site, after you chose to go there.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, if you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in portable form, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your national data protection authority.
Under India’s DPDP Act you have the right to access, correct and erase your data, to withdraw consent, and to nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.
In practice: email hello@kharidwise.com and say what you want. I will do it within 30 days, usually the same week. The only things I hold that are personally identifiable are a form submission, an email thread and, if you joined, your address on the email list, so “delete everything about me” is a real and complete answer here.
International transfers
Your data may be stored outside India. Tally stores form submissions in the EU (Belgium). Cloudflare operates a global network and relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the EU.
If you are in the EU or UK, nothing here moves your data to India: I read submissions, but they are stored in the EU.
Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 18, and I do not knowingly collect data from children. Under the DPDP Act, processing children’s data requires verifiable parental consent, which this site is not set up to obtain — so please do not use the form if you are under 18.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and has no login, so there is no account to be breached. The only personal data I hold is the optional email list and any email address given with a wrong-spec report, in a Cloudflare database reachable only through my own two-factor-authenticated Cloudflare account, and form submissions, which sit with Tally behind my own two-factor-authenticated account. The sign-up and the report form accept only requests from this site, store nothing but the fields listed above, and slow down or pause if they are being flooded. Cloudflare also filters abusive traffic before it reaches the site.
Changes
Material changes will be posted here with a new date. If a change affects data already collected from you, I will email you.
